Saturn had decided to devolve his sons whenever they are born because he never knew the one who was going to overthrow him. One of the sons escapes to Jupiter making Saturn be in a panic that he will not be able to devolve one of his sons and thus in fear of losing power. He is determined to do anything preferred that he will remain in power. The physical appearance shows that Saturn is really in fear of losing the power. He his brought-out bulging eyes on his depression that faced him. The body looks like butchered meet while in his hands he his holding his son butchering him. The art has been brought out as a reflection of what Goya saw.
