The Deontological Theory in Education Inequality
Document Type:Essay
Subject Area:Philosophy
It has been the responsibility of education stakeholders to carry out investigations on education levels to determine the most appropriate intervention methods. The stakeholders thus attempt to stop the problem of education inequality by enacting policies aimed at prioritizing education equality regardless of age or race. Upon government implementation of policies that mandate all children attend schools, the parents should take up the role of ensuring that their children attend school thus aiding in the elimination of education inequality. The deontological theory is a normative position in ethics that judges if the actions of an individual are moral on the basis of the set rules. According to the theory following the set rule results in morally acceptable actions while disobedience of rule makes one’s action morally unacceptable (Werkmeister).
