This article provides an overview of the management of diversity and immigration by the Quebec government in efforts to promote the political and cultural autonomy from Canada. The authors claim that the rise of Quebec as a powerful and resilient state with the legitimate and leading supremacy which is sporadic, reflects the adaptations undergone by many nations in response to globalization challenges. The information in this article is however relevant to my topic in understanding the various dimensions contributing to Quebec’s evolution. The authors have cited that one of the greatest roles of the new Quebec’s immigration policy is the symbolization, promotion and the maintenance of the cohesiveness as a result of the efforts to integrate and accommodate people from all walks of life as well as from different cultural backgrounds and ethnicities.
