Through this addiction, they do not get the chance to participate in physical activities which leads to them becoming obese. This paper seeks to explain how technology has impacted the health and lifestyle of children Research has found out that a more significant percentage of children that are under the age of 10 have acknowledged that they use smartphones to play video games and 78% of high school children also have smartphones and some have access to our tablets. Some of the phones are gifts that the children receive from family and friends. Over time this has been employed as a strategy that parents use to keep their children busy while they channel their attention to more pressing matters (Huang). The children then depend on the video games, to play without getting any actual physical activities.

A student can use applications that help in translating and providing materials for a student to learn and at the end offer exercises to help evaluate their progress helping them learn another language the fastest way possible. Who would not want to learn a foreign language at the comfort of their phone? The society should not negatively affect by technology in ways such as contributing to obesity in children (Chen et al. Instead, they should maximize the opportunity they have with technology to help them lead a healthy lifestyle. Technology can help fight childhood obesity by helping monitor the health or fitness in different ways. Using fitness tracking movement for instance, which is a new technology in the market that is wearable as wristbands can help in measurable ways.

This decision will help the underprivileged children access the fitness trackers through Medicaid and even insurance plans (Lewis). This act also will give the insurance companies and the health care department in the government a chance to offer fitness trackers along with other medical products to an obese patient. In comparison to other forms of losing weight, fitness trackers have proven to be cheaper means of weight loss concerning a report by the medical community report. It may not be smooth sailing for the regulation of the fitness trackers as the processes itself is very expensive which will make companies dig deep into their pockets to facilitate the regulation process. The increased expense on the companies that produce fitness trackers will make them hike prices on their products so that they cover the expenses of regulation at the same time aiming at making profits because no one wants to operate on loses.
