Slaves were needed to work in the vast lands of North America where the Europeans had taken over in order to cub the shortage of laborers. The first half of the 19th century was characterized by movements to stop slavery as supporters of the abolition and societies in the North tried to sensitize people to support the call for abolition of slavery. The struggle took place despite strong backing of people from the southern part who benefited a lot from enslaved labour in cotton plantations. Bodies organized to advocate for anti-slavery and abolition reforms called for gradual liberation which later in the 1820s under the pressure of religious leaders it was decided that having slaves was a sin and the owner had to free them immediately to escape from the sin.

Racism was also an issue for America during the colonial era where certain social and legal rights and privileges were given to the white Americans but denied to other races. Although colonialists insisted on the religion as a way unity and enhancing morality of the people in the society, not everyone was of the same religion. Finally, nevertheless, by separating religion and government and by allowing freedom to all religious groups, America propelled a new political trial first-time in the world’s history. Colonization movements in the early 19th century involved organizations were established to be in charge of the future. Some were for the idea that black people should be freed from the United States and taken to places that they could be able to enjoy freedom while others suggested relocation.

The American Colonization Society during the 1820s and 1830s were among organizations formed to implement the return of black people back to Africa. Sexual freedom in United States was set to solve the problem of discrimination based on sexual orientation. The rights included sexual expression, sexual choices, sexual education, procreative justice and sexual health. Any person can therefore choose to have sex with whomever they want anytime as long as the person is of age. This freedom to have homosexual sex unlike the ancient days when homosexuality was considered evil. The issue if homosexuality although represented in the civil rights continues to raise concerns as people in the US and around the world as it is considered unethical and promoting moral decay especially with the legalization of gay marriage.

Many black children have their parents behind bars for drug charges. Gun violence is a menace in the United States with many firearms related murders reported over the past years. Mass shootings documented in the nation that occur because of people who own illegal firearms with highest number of suicide committed with a gun. This gun violence affects the stability of the nation therefore reforms to cub the problem need to be introduced.
