Ernest Hemingway also worked as a journalist before publishing his story collection in our time. He is well known through the novels he has published such as a Fare well to arms, the sun also rises, for whom the bell tolls and the old man and the sea. In 1953 the author won the puliter due to the novel he did the old man and the sea. Ernest Hemingway won the Nobel price in the year 1954. Unfortunately the author committed suicide on July 2, 1961, in Ketchum, Idaho. he goes through some challenges in the home coming process and his transition towards a normal life. Back at his home he no longer feels at home. He is traumatized due to the experiences he had during the war.

He does not fit in his home. The main point that the author is trying to show is that soldiers get traumatized during the war and when they go back to their homes they become different people unable to be the same as they were before going to war. “Henry Dobbins thought about it. Yeah, well, he finally said. I don’t see no moral. There it is, man. Fuck off. The things the soldiers carry involve both the physical objects such as matches, morphine and rifles and emotional such as love, guilt and fear. The author writes about the experiences that soldiers go through during war. Both authors took part in war such as Hemingway took part in the World War I and O’Brien took part in the Vietnam War.
