This paper analyzes the primary themes employed in “The Importance of Being Earnest. ” The Major Themes One of the core themes is the versions of reality in romance and love. The first sense of reality from this romance novel emanates from the spoiled young females. He has nothing, but he looks everything. What more can one desire?” (Oscar 80). The poem also affirms that for love to last, forgiveness is paramount. When both men and women unravel the good intentions behind their partner’s deception, they have no option but to forgive their infidelity. Throughout the play, it becomes easier for one to see how the definition of love emanates.
