Comparison of perfect man and the gentleman Student: Instructor: Institution: Course: Date: Chun tzu and chenjen Introduction Culture and religion play a very important role in the life of the Chinese people and is the basis of human behavior and the adherence to ethics. With the belief in a Supreme Being it is imperative that each of them lives up to the expectation of the Supreme Being and more so regarding the societal and spiritual aspiration. However Confucianismdoes not dwell much on religion it is more of an ethical code.Confucianism thus is the belief that rationality and humanity is the basis of harmonious cultural and social living. In this then stems the principles of the Chun tzu(gentleman)which is a focus on human attitudes which will foster harmony among those that interact. On the other hand the perfect man chen jen as from the Taoismreligion is one that holds a the effects of these actions will lead to creating a lot of unfairness that is observed. I would prefer to be chuntzu as it offers a more reasonable approach to most of the social dilemmas. References Lin L. H. & Ho Y. L. (2009).
