Anthropocentrism is the human-centered system of values where they are considered to be the superior to other existing species. Eco-centrism on the other hand is the nature-centered system of values where nature’s existence is not for the beneficiary of human but its account. Human beings have power over other living things and have the right to take control over nature although eco-centrism assumes that all the living things are worth and equal to human beings who should in turn be morally responsible for their existence. The approach of anthropocentrism and eco-centrism are different in their way of understanding on the relationship between human and the environment. According to Ecologists and environmentalists human beings should not use the other living things for their survival. They attitude and concern for the environment is in the frontline so as to bring out the best out of it. There is an increased awareness of the negative impact of an increase in population industrialization technological advancement and expansion of the economy on the environment. For this reason however through research they have invested in the use of technology to curb climatic change patterns the decline in animal and plant biodiversity exhaustion of natural resources and degradation of ecosystem among others.
