Consequently, the composition of light is very vital for the survival of all the plants in terms of receiving adequate information that will enhance plant response. The light spectrum within the range of 300-800 is known to initiate development response based on the information collected by the plant. Moreover, Ultra-violet and Infrared light plays a significant role in enhancing plant morphogenesis. On the other hand, blue light spectrum within a range of 450nm to 495nm plays a vital role of initiating plant growth cycle because it is the first type of light that is absorbed by plants that aid in chlorophyll production.

It is therefore crucial to note that plants derive insignificant energy from both the yellow and green light rays since they have very long wavelength. It is also worth mentioning that when we one looks at the plants, you only spot the green-yellow light because the chlorophyll reflects the two light rays and absorb red-blue light. Plants grown under conditions where only green and yellow light rays are available can be very weak because most of the light rays will not be absorbed by the plant to promote photosynthesis. Nevertheless, studies have revealed that green light wavelength within the range of 495nm – 570nm is beneficial to plants because it enhances production of chlorophyll. The green coloring matter accelerates rate of photosynthesis that is essential for the growth and development of the plant.

Alternative hypothesis H1: The length of the light wavelengths have a positive correlation with the phototrophic responses in mung-beans. According to (), photoreceptors are used as the mechanisms that plants use to deal with constant environmental changes. Photoreceptor is a protein found in plants that is used to detect and absorb lights rays. The nature of the response undertaken by the plant is determined by the type of color absorbed by the plant. The presence of light of different intensities triggers transportation of auxins that are vital for the growth of the plant either towards or away from the sunlight rays depending on the part of the plant.
