It is doubtless that Stillman has produced one of the most outstanding dual autobiographies of two characters that spent most of their lifetime in the opposing sides. Therefore, this paper will review of the work of author by critically delving into the depth of the book to establish the author’s writing perspective, any bias and the challenge that the work pose to other writers. Stillman in this book, reawakens history which was buried under a circumstance where overturning it seemed impossible. The author provides a great guise of individuals who were previously enemies but now great friends. This strategy of telling an old story is quite unique especially in the current literature. In this book, the author uses an event then fans out using the characters to arrive at a particular pivotal point.

There is a strong parallelism as seen in the book from the present events to the events that had occurred in the 19th century. In this case, the author depicts to the readers that the past always forms part of the present. Each chapter of the book evokes among the readers a beautiful brotherhood created out of a previous hatred and enmity. Friendship in this case, as portrayed by the author is made out of work of showmanship and after revisiting previous battles that had resulted to nothing of substance. Moreover, Cody never found in trouble working with Whites, for example by hiring Native Americans. Most of them were forced into reservations and become destitute to the point of desiring their old experiences of live.
