The greenhouse effect is basically warming of the atmosphere as a result of it forming a barrier that hinders earth-radiated heat from making its way into space. The atmosphere consists of specific Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) which trap the heat and consequently lead to greenhouse effect (Shaftel et al. The burning of fossil fuels merges oxygen to carbon forming Carbon dioxide. Some well-known consequences of changing the greenhouse include earth becoming warmer, more precipitation and evaporation, melting glaciers and increased sea levels, natural plant population makeup is also affected pose negative impact on food security. The UN has deduced that there is almost a 95% chance that humans have been the major cause of climate change over the last fifty years (Climate Change 2014 Synthesis Report Summary For Policymakers).

Among us are people passionate about farming. For farmers to contribute to the global agenda of slowing climate change, they are requested to adopt Carbon Farming Initiative (CFI). This is a program that allows landowners and farmers earn credits of carbon by reduction of greenhouse emissions or alternatively storing the carbon. Landowners and farmers are not forced to adopt this program but on the contrary, choose to participate of their own free will. The program also enables farmers and landowners to earn extra income. On a global scale, agriculture has contributed to around10 to 12 percent of the summed up greenhouse effluents (Leifeld, and Fuhrer). We should let our storekeepers, managers and manufacturers have knowledge that we need products that possess the least packaging that is also recyclable.

We should stop being energy inefficient. We are accustomed to switching lights off. Additionally, we should be energy efficient by shifting from light bulbs and adapting to fluorescents. That is why we have to change from reckless eating and choose to eat wisely. Instead of imported foods, purchase organic foods grown domestically. We need to break loose from the chains of processed goods. We should form a habit of growing our food on our own. About 20% of the greenhouse effluents originate from productions associated with dairy products and meat (Suzuki). These measures show the reason why the paper is in agreement with the fact that changing our behaviors can slow climate change.
