Aircraft Metal Construction Case Study

Document Type:Coursework

Subject Area:Physics

Document 1

Specifically, the paper presents the root cause of the accident, stress factors involved, types of metals involved, and suggests ways that could have helped to avoid this accident. Pegasus plane accident happened when the plane was landing. The pilot tried to decelerate the plane which became difficult due to the wet runway. Eventually, the aircraft turned left when the pilot tried to apply the brakes and went off the runway. An airplane structure must be made in a way that it can accept and overcome the stressed imposed on it by ground without any form of deformation. Aircraft reliability principally depends on the quality of the structures used in making the repair. Therefore, it is crucial for repairs to be strong enough to carry recommended weight for the aircraft.
