The Misconception about Psychological Disorders
The research paper will describe some of the misconceptions I have observed and discuss how the modern research can be used to change these misconceptions and the people who suffer from them. There is a myth that people suffering from mental illnesses are unpredictable and violent. Nevertheless, research has shown that majority of people who have mental illnesses are no more likely to be violent than anyone else (U. S. Department of Health & Human Services, 2017). Furthermore, it will help those who are suffering to be appreciated and not to be viewed as weak members of the community. There is a myth that children do not experience mental health problems. The fact is that even children who are young may show signs of mental health concern.
