There are various factors that contribute to program selection for individuals under the system of juvenile justice. This factors should include violence definitions, assessment, and right treatment availability. In the United States, there is the prevalence of the adolescent crime. The juveniles made a percentage of 15% of all crimes in the year 2008 (Puzzanchera, 2009). Following this, there is a necessity for scrutinizing as well as adapting the juvenile justice system for the purpose of attaining positive results, especially mental health treatment as well as low recidivism. The juvenile system of justice provides various treatment alternatives that are available on a continuum from therapeutic to punitive. This exposition will give some of the common practices in deep mainly focussing on the results as well as any consequence.

Before a judge sentence a young offender, it is important for him or her to consider the juvenile system of justice. Juvenile System of Justice History Since from the 19th century, the juvenile system of justice has experienced radical changes. A description is given by Grisso (2007) of the three policy eras in the juvenile system of justice. On Monday, Fisher listened to Luis Gutierrez statement in Pomona superior court and she said Luis Gutierrez act claimed the life of Miguel Martin who was 24 years old and also due to this act many lives were destroyed. Therefore fisher came up with a final decision that Luis Gutierrez should be sentenced to 40 years to life imprisonment. This sentence was claimed to be authorized by the law since Luis Gutierrez was condemned as an adult.

In regards to this sentence, Luis Gutierrez family claimed that he was not the shooter. They testified that Luis Gutierrez was watching movies and playing video games at his relative’s home.
