Alan Marlatt’s second edition of “Assessment of Addictive Behaviors”. The paper analyses and summarizes major empirical findings that are relevant to RP model. Major advancements in RP include the inception of reformulated model that uses cognitive behavior to model relapse, usage of statistical techniques to imitate relapse in trials that are random, and creation of mindfulness-focused relapse prevention. Also reviewed in this paper highlights the upcoming literature on genetic resemblance of relapse in line with pharmacological treatments. RP model continues to be influential as evidenced by its inclusion in many cognitive-behavioral substance utilization for interventions. Hence empirical supported treatment technique has evolved which is sufficient for every kind of eating disorder and the trend would keep up.
