The concept of the image of God is frequently used by pastors and other church leaders as a reference point to guide the congregation when faced with a crisis of any kind. In this paper, I will explain how these pastors and church leaders use the image of God to assist people who are going through a particular crisis and also how God himself uses a crisis to mould us into His image. A very common crisis that people go through is that of sickness. When a person falls sick or a member of a family falls ill, it becomes a very trying time for that family mainly because people do not want to lose their loved ones. This causes people to go to large extents to find a cure for the disease whatever the cost.

In such a situation, as a Christian and also a church leader should decline the offer as it does not agree with the Christian values. The concept of the image of God is gotten from the first book of the bible where human beings are created in the likeness and image of God. Mankind is therefore similar to God only that human beings sleep but God does not sleep and also mankind sins while God does not (Neusner and Green 166). Therefore human beings are expected to have the same traits as those of God. This becomes very challenging, especially when faced with a crisis because one's faith is tested as a result. God expects Christians to maintain their faith however bad the situation may be just the same way He does not change come what may.

In these crisis he intends to mold Christians into his own image and likeness as He is well aware of the situation that a person is facing and He will deliver the person from that situation provided the person is patient, prayerful, hopeful and does not renounce the name of God by seeking alternative solutions that are not pleasing to the eyes of God In conclusion, Christians will continuously face many crises that will test their faith but if they believe in God and with the help of pastors and church leaders, they are going to go through these crises without sinning as they are made in the likeness of God and God does not sin.
