AbstractThis report summarises the design analysis for a permanent sheet piled cofferdam which enables an excavation to be made for a 4m x 4m foundation with a dry depth 4m. This includes the formation of a finite difference mesh and using a calculated c value to give values for the pore water pressure distribution due to the artesian water conditions. The next step includes producing a net pressure diagram which through the summation of moments gave a factor of safety of 2.794. From this value the maximum bending moment was calculated to be 88.990 kNm which lead to a Larssen 6W section being selected which has the section modulus of 614cm^3/m.
