Tel-Comm-Tek (TCT) (Author’s name) (Institutional Affiliation) Introduction Tel-Comm-Tek (TCT) is a company that is known for its manufacture of small office equipment such as dictation units copying machines paper shredder and laser printers in 12 countries. TCT has reported sales recently in 85 or more countries. The company was introduced in the early 1990s and has been there since then but originally did not have an in-country operation of its own only relied on the agents locally to sell and to service their products ("" 2017). In 1998 TCT opened a marketing subsidiary in the New Delhi following the increase in sales and the sales of this company has since then been accelerating. Mark Hopkins of the Tel-comm-Tek in India who is an MNE US-headquartered announced his retirement in May 2011. As a result TCT seeks to fill his vacancy. As is the tradition TCT does internal promotion to or one partner may hold the other partner back. When one partner gets promoted or permanently leaves a succession of that partner is difficult and especially if there is no groomed leader in place. In conclusion after the right candidate is chosen TCT should ensure that he or she receives the right pay for the right stretch. The new manager should also receive essential support and encouragement from all the existing staff and given time to prove his or her ability to lead. That way the new manager is more likely to produce positive results within a short duration. References Branine M. (2011). Managing Across Cultures (1st ed.). London: SAGE Publications. (2017). Order Description:

Please read the "Tel-Comm-Tek (TCT)" case from chapter 20, and answer to the following questions. It is important for you to read the chapter carefully before attempting to answer the assignment. The learning from reading the text must be reflected in your answers. Grading criteria for case studies are listed under "course information." 1. Identify the two key advantage of each candidate. Identify their liabilities. Rank order the candidates from most to least qualified, for the position of managing director of TCT India. 2. What operational as well as personal challenges might the person you recommend encounter if named Managing Director? 3. What steps would you recommend your preferred candidate take to manage those challenges? 4. For a moment, let’s return to the issues covered in Chapter 15 regarding the matrix structure. Assume TCT adopts this structure for its Indian operation. What benefits might result by appointing two different individuals to the position of co-managing director of TCT India – effectively, one person would supervise sales and customer relations while the other would supervise manufacturing. Each slot would command equal positional authority and each person would be charged to co-manage with his or her counterpart. What benefits problems might result from this arrangement? What problems, if any, might occur? Instructions: Prepare your responses in no more than 4 type written pages (in APA Format). There is no need to write too much. Try to stick to the points. Conduct a spelling check carefully before submitting your response. Write your name and assignment number at the top of the document.
