Institution Professor Course Date Case Study on World Religions The term heresy refers to any ideas regarding a religion that are inconsistent with the other well known used and which were established at an extended period of time. The person who comes up with the new ideas is frequently termed a heretic. Heresy involves a kind of abandonment and disregard of teachings of a particular religion by their truth. In most cases those people who are branded heretics bring some ideas to counter what they deem is not done rightly. Being a heretic calls for many consequences such as excommunication which was commonly practiced by the Catholic faith removal from Luther.
