We used to share a lot of ideas and we maintained close relationships. I was sure that regardless of the challenge, I would count on my friends and look up to them for all the help that I needed. However, the situation changed when I joined high school. It was at this time when I had to cope with diversity and try to understand my schoolmates who were the majority. I thought that going to this school was one step towards the achievement of success in life. In the American history, the Africans went through suffering because of their color and this has not come to an end up to date. Many whites have a negative attitude towards the blacks and tend to discriminate against them.
