Slavery as a moral cancer
The book argues against slavery acts. It describes how the current legal system encourages native owners to treat slaves inappropriately and rather lets the cruel personalities control the slavery. The narrative tries to give a true reflection of slavery, which is not biased. The narrative seems to be driven by the same purpose which other previous writings about slavery were guided by. Twelve years a slave narrative seeks to answer the questions around the dehumanization of fellow human beings. The slavery injustices are all demonstrated in the South, the governance system that legalized slavery, the act which was characterized by immorality and stigma. Solomon, through the narrative, expresses the greedy of people and how families were separated by greed. However, Solomon being a religious person, he kept his hope alive even through the afflictions.
