Although Charles Darwin is considered as the father of genetics for composing the formula for genetic, there were previous scientific research on the genesis of evolution was started a long time ago (Ellis, 2016, p. He became famous as he proposed the mechanism for evolution. On how living organism undergo descent modification while adapting to their natural habitats. Of his greatest works, the theory of Natural Selection is one of the greatest theories of evolution that Darwin proposed. In the natural setting, an organism that is best suited to the environment will survive be outdone by others, a principle of “surviving of the fittest”. For example, the nostrils of a whale being located behind the head helped the whale to adapt contentedly to the marine ecosystem.

In the later generation, the continued evolution has shown the quicker change where the nostril of the offspring is formed farther back on their head. The body streamlined to easily propel in the water while swimming proving the structural evolution. After the organism has adapted to the natural setting that threatens its population, the organisms, species have to breed. To select the mate, the theory of natural selection occurs to ensure only the dominant and stronger physical characteristics are passed. Some remains are not dormant and not expressed and other are the dominant genes that are expressed through the phenotypes. Molecular biology has played a significant role in explaining how the genes were formed for the alleles. Gene mutation occurs due to a spontaneous change in the DNA by the radiant and chemical.

As a result of these changes first manifesting at the gene level, the organism develops trait to adapt to the natural setting. The mutation caused can be of advantage to the developing organism as it adapts to the environment or has a neutral effect. They have been named vestiges organs. Evolution as a continuous process has caused the organism to change, adapt and survive in its environments (Cox, Moore & Ladle, 2016). In an ecosystem where there is more number of predators, the organisms have developed characteristics that enable them to survive. Such includes skin camouflaging, strong legs to run from the enemy increasing survival chances. Due to continued human pollution into the environments, the toxic substances have increased to a high amount that has killed some species risking extinction when they fail to develop survival characteristics.
