As a matter of fact, from around 2100BC to 1911AD, china was ruled by dynasties all which promoted designing of clothes as part of their culture (Zhang et al 93). According to Peng et al (1273), each dynasty had their form of color and designs of clothes that marked different occasions. This is a direct indication that the textile industry in regard to manufacturing of clothes started very early in China. The purpose of this reflection is to address the history and development of china’s textile industry and how this has transformed their manufacturing industry with reference to the visits that we conducted on a few textile companies in China. LTD was in fact founded very early in the year 1895 and has greatly developed to maintain its reputation as one of the most renowned textile manufacturers since early days of modern china. The group specializes in dyeing, weaving, spinning, home textiles, clothing, and printing and even in automobile sales. On the other hand, Jiangsu Bermo Co. LTD was established in the year 1997 but has grown to be one of the largest manufacture of home textiles and the consequent distribution of the same with even establishment of abroad textile companies. From my research, the growth of these companies was highly fueled by the application of production equipment and technologies that are highly advanced. This includes manufacturing and importation of machinery and technology that is to be efficiently used in the manufacturing sector within the textile industry.

I also found that the textile industry uses cost theory strategies which focus on the reduction of costs while maintaining the quality of products. Such included the application of economies of scale which largely focuses on production of large volumes of output at minimal cost. There is also the use of policy models that the companies within the textile industry apply in sourcing of Indian and Chinese mills that are cost very low. Finally, the consequent removal of quotas enables the companies to produce in large scale creating a sense of economy of scale (Chan et al 18).
