Metacognition Action Research Paper Name University Affiliation Abstract This action research observes application of metacognitive approaches to affect learners’ accomplishments and approaches toward their learning. From tutor observations of learners students’ oral and documented responses to metacognitive plans data memos and teacher journal and four findings appeared that answer how my application of metacognitive plans will affect my learners’ academic attainments and their attitudes toward learning. Eighteen ninth grade English language students participated in this study. Nevertheless ready to use metacognitive strategies for aiding students with content I challenged behavior issues for which I had to emphasised the metacognitive strategies. Learners did demonstrate change in their attainments and attitudes toward learning in this situation which heartens my continuing metacognitive education in place of sharing this study with colleagues.
