However, interactions among these communities were limited. European settled in America in order to develop colonial ambitions for South and North America, broaden their over world affairs, and increase their wealth (Strong, Pauline Turner, 70). North America was colonized by 3 European prominent powers which greatly influenced the continent. Conflict ensued among these colonial powers over the limited resources in North America and created a series of wars. Nonetheless, slowly the European colonies developed a great desire for independence. The natives in North America lived in several culture regions and engaged in agricultural production. These natives found their culture completely changed upon the arrival of the European settlers (Zinn, Howard, 140). The cultures the Europeans practiced were not similar to those they had practiced a few generations before, and a number of linguistic groups got extinct.
