This paper will expound on the meaning of cyberbullying, the causes and the ways to prevent cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is the use of internet communication applied in threatening or to intimidate someone by sending messages. Due technology advancement, cyberbullying has been a great problem and very hard to resolve. Cyberbullying mainly occurs to students at the school, mobile phones and social media platforms (El Asam & Samara, 2016). Therefore, teachers, principals, and parents have an obligation to monitor and prevent cyberbullying. One of them is cyberbullying causes fear (Gunther, DeSmet, Jacobs & De Bourdeaudhuij, 2015). Bullying causes a lack of confidence in oneself and in front of others. A bullied student may fear to answer questions to avoid being laughed at or bullied later (El Asam & Samara, 2016).
If unnoticed the student may start getting lesser score day by day and at long last, a bright student may fail in the final exam. Teachers should be observant and quick to notice any change in any particular student and identify the cause of the change. These steps will help to conquer the stress and the depression caused by cyberbullying. Cyberbullying causes death to some people. When a student is bullied or a celebrity and does not have the strength to fight back the situation some may make a bad decision and commit murder. This is the worst case of cyberbullying (Azad, Mazid & Sharmin, 2017). When some people are bullied they see darkness and think that it is their end some can’t imagine how to live with the incident hence ending their lives.
