Although change management helps streamline business operations and reduce redundancy, if poorly managed, it can have negative impacts on an organization (Uwujaren, 2017). Change is a process; it takes time for employees to come to terms with the changes that may come around the workplace. During the transformational change, employees may need to unlearn certain wrong past behaviors. This step is difficult because some of the behaviors are ingrained in the organizational culture. This is why it is imperative to acquire employee acceptance on unlearning past behaviors. Poor change management results in the inefficiency of the business processes, reduced productivity and increased costs. Technology and consumer preference keep evolving, hence, if an organization fails to keep up with business structures, processes, and technology, then, business products and services of an organization will become obsolete (Petersen, 2018).
