Why do People Pollute the Atmosphere
Therefore, air pollution involves the contamination of the atmosphere by the introduction of harmful substances into the atmosphere. The pollutants can take the form of liquids, solids, and gasses and often have adverse consequences for humans. As such, we analyze the causes and repercussions of people polluting the air (Harrison, 2015). Perhaps the most significant cause of air pollution is the burning of fossil fuels (Harrison, 2015). Fossil fuels such as gasoline, coal and petroleum products release sulfur dioxide when burned, which is one of the primary air pollutants. There are various repercussions of air pollution on humans' chief among them being an increase in respiratory and heart problems. People in areas exposed to air pollution suffer from respiratory problems such as pneumonia and asthma, which also means increased medical costs and loss of lives (Harrison, 2015).
