Nonetheless, the study of human behavior is considered to be a young discipline -it emerged in the late 1800s (Roback,1961). The study of human behavior was first acknowledged to be an independent area of research when one of the earliest scientists in this field,Wilhelm Wundt ,established the first laboratory that he dedicated to the experimental study of human behavior. A number of events have defined the course of experimental psychology including the publishing of the first experimental psychology text “Principles of Physiological Psychology” in 1874. This event had a massive influence on the field of experimental psychology, as did the founding of a psychology laboratory in the US by William James in 1875 (Roback & Kiernan,1969). The laboratory was opened with the intention of using it to the improve the learning experience of students in this area of knowledge rather than as a platform for performing experiments on human psychology.
