Others will narrate how they had a fantastic revelation on a mountain, or how they had a close encounter with mother nature, while others will talk about an insane disaster that brought them to the threshold of death. My story might not contain anything spectacular, but it is the most incredible experience of my life. Ever since I was young, various events have changed my life and played a critical role in shaping my character but one has astoundingly changed my life and that is my parents. They have affected my life in a myriad of ways for which words cannot fully describe. Yet, I will strive to explain how my parents have changed my life entirely and given me a new world, which I can look at proudly.

I feel that this would be the best way of valuing memories; as a way of rewriting about the self endlessly. For me, the past memories have greatly shaped my life and made me who I am today. I recall that ever since I was young, my home environment has always been supportive and caring although there have been some episodes of misunderstandings. I believe that growing up in a supportive family is the reason I get along with most of my peers and establish fulfilling relationships. I remember how secure being with my parents felt. Fathers offer psychological along with physical support. According to Yogman and Garfield, “Father involvement in the early childhood years is associated with positive child developmental and psychological outcomes over time” (Yogman and Garfield, e20161128).

Like mothers, fathers act as pillars in the child’s emotional development. Often, children depend on their fathers to establish and enforce regulations, as well as to offer both emotional and physical security. My father has been a remarkable figure in my life. I vividly recall that after a fortnight, my father would always take us to watch a film. I enjoyed such times as we would sit comfortably eating popcorns and watching the movies. In fact, I still believe that watching films is a perfect way of relaxing. Movies have been found to impact both the body and the brain. They have educational, social, and psychological importance to individuals. My dad has made me wise, happy, safe, and confident. Truly, the most positive memories of our parents are the ones that help make us into who we become.
