The first reason given is that marriage makes people rich. The individuals who advocate for pro-gay marriages have claimed that marriage increases the wealth of people. Further, the two writers make it clear that if a major factor in a successful relationship in marriage is hard work, then a person who works hard in a marriage should receive payment for such. Also, they make a pronouncement that persons who are married are wealthier than those who are not married. This article postulates that there are several situations whereby marriage is not as beneficial as expected to be or to the advantage of either couple whether gay or not.
