In addition, living outside living outside the marriage is linked with freedom and enjoyments of some rights which are not available when someone is in a marriage (Greenberg, 300). On the other hand, same-sex marriage or married couples is associated with stigma and discrimination which are barred by the marriage laws (Franke, 6). With the homosexuality marriages, the wife may not claim for the share of the property. Marriage comes with a bundle of rights, roles not forgetting the dignity and social respect which gay and lesbians may lack (Franke, 8). In addition, getting married means being ready to abide by the rules and regulations that not everyone might be willing to abide by. In the light of the above statement, marriage and marriage laws might work best for the married couples of the opposite sex.
