These behavioral goals include; i. To improve the student’s behavior while in class and outside of school. ii. To improve student’s academic performance. iii. Typically, MKO (more Knowledgeable Other) is perceived to be a coach, teacher or even older adult; However, MKO (more Knowledgeable Other) could also be viewed to be peers, young individuals or even computers. The theory also theme stresses on the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD). It is defined as the difference between the ability of a child to perform a particular task under the guidance of a coach, adult of fellow peers and the ability of the student to solve a specific task independently (Vygotsky & Cole, 2018). The Vygotsky majorly focuses on the connections between individuals and their social- cultural contexts in which they interact and share experiences. In this regard, as a teacher will structure various tasks that Rad will have to follow in to achieve the desired behavioral goals. Also, as a teacher, I will apply the theory of Vygotsky cognitive development to help Rad achieve the desired behavioral goals. In this regard, I will initiate a collaborative learning process to help the student operate within his Proximal Development (ZPD) zone. This is because the concept is broadly used by instructors/teachers as a guide towards the cognitive development of children (Vygotsky & Cole, 2018). This is because it enables the teachers to understand the potential of students in their academic performance through the use of mediator and therefore, allows the instructor to assist the student in attaining that level by them.
