The declaration of independence in America led to the secession of 13 colonies from the British rule with the perspective that they ought not to be mistreated any longer by the colonial masters. The success of the 13 colonies to secede meant that, the will of governed was so superior as compared to that of the administrators. In this regard therefore it suffices that, the declaration of Independence in the United States of America led to the establishment of the American government especially due to two main reasons (Maier, 1). First, the declaration put it clear to the people that, however much the governed may be despised, they are the sovereign. Moreover, it became clear that, the rightful government is that which has been instated by the governed and therefore people have the power to institute or to remove the government from power.
