The said lady had been married to John who abuses her in their marriage until she eventually runs mad. The narrator of the story uses allegory and hidden meaning to explain the story in details basing on the wallpaper that was in the wall of their house that was torn behind repair and in which eventually John’s wife finishes it by ripping it part after she runs mad The point of view created in this story is the explanation of the plight of women in society. The lead character in the story as created by Charlotte is a young woman who is facing a lot of problems in her life. The story is also narrated from the first-person point of view, and it revolves around some of the issues that a young woman faced in her young marriage.

The first person style used in the story provides a clear overview of the woman's life and what she was going through in her life. Isolation is the key theme that is also reciprocated in this short story. The level of isolation that the narrator faces as the lead subject in the play is quite enormous. She is isolated from the rest of the world just because she is a woman. The character, in this case, is used to represent the plight of women in society. She is used to express how the women are isolated from various key operations and critical points in the community that makes them feel neglected, inferior and also unwanted. The story provides that woman have rich ideas which they can use to better society.

They have ideas which can be perfectly recreated to meet the societal challenges, and this is seen from the thoughts of the principal character. However, the same does not mature in this case. This is because women are not given a platform to exercise their rights and fundamentalism in society. The main idea given in the story is that women are shunned from some community activities because of the fear that they may take the place of men in society. The ideas that are created in the knowledge carry a deep weight.
