The suppliers had to go an extra mile in working hard in order to conform to the criteria provide and meet the requirements put in place. This process was a big challenge for the suppliers. One, a supplier had to consent to the unfriendly payment terms that included agreeing to make payments before the products’ parts left the Whirlpool stores. In the process, transportation means and way were also considered in the payment agreement terms. However, the costs were not possible to predetermine. Not many suppliers were in a position to meet these requirements however. On the score card also included; audit score and corrective action response rate. Additionally, delivery lead time and historic performance of a supplier was also explored and this added up to the scores.
