Born in 1925, Seymour Cray’s father was a profoundly known civil engineer in the United States and this influenced his son’s interest in computer technology. After his high school education, Seymour Cray joined the US army where he worked in several departments such as; Pacific theater and infantry Communications Platoon. Thereafter, Cray enrolled for a bachelor's degree in electronic engineer at the University of Minnesota where he graduated in 1950 with a chain of great projects under his name. Besides, in 1951, he enrolled for a master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, which played an integral role in his computer works3.
