Some of the challenges faced by farmers in the United States include high costs of resources that have a connection with industrial agriculture, farmlands that are degraded, food insecurity together with the excessive waste of food products, and a largely urbanized population that is not connected with farming. The U.S. government has made efforts in providing subsidies for businesses related to farming in the country. Such agricultural subsidies in developing countries negatively affect the global economy.
