Indian Americans have played a major role in shaping the modern day America. There are so many positive things that they contributed to. Some of these things began long time ago before the arrival of the Europeans settlers on North American land. I have discussed some of their contributions below which include cultural influence, influence on governance and participation in agricultural sector. The India American has contributed in constitution and bill of rights. Native Americans learned to grow and use many different kinds of food that most of the people eat today. Many people are turning to natural foods that were used by settlers e. g. potatoes, beans corn, tomatoes and nuts. Raw foods that are nowadays considered “traditional foods” still grow in plenty.

Also, some of their artwork has been appreciated and admired throughout in the United States of America. The Tribe’s facilities and architecture on the reservation is admired and used across America in design of buildings. They also contributed greatly to English language. Countless words that are often used in the English language are borrowed from the Native Americans e. g. This was in an effort to communicate with people who could not understand their language. This idea has been borrowed in creation and development of sign language. (Weatherford) Conclusion In conclusion, the presence of Indian Americans in the United States has affected greatly the todays American living at large. It goes without say that the Native Americans has positively influenced different sectors in the United States, cultural, economic, educational and political sectors.
