As illustrated below, lifelong learning is important for continuous career development, social inclusion, and personal development. Firstly, lifelong learning is vital for ensuring sustainability of one’s career. The business world is continuously evolving, demanding new skills and knowledge each new day. New procedures, machines, technologies, models, and resources are the order of the day in a working environment, and workers need to keep up with them in order to continue being viable in their contribution to their organizations. For people in the workplace to make themselves more competitive and important, they have to not only keep up with these new developments, but also innovate theirs for the purpose of their organizations (McMaster, Lopez, & Cleary, 2018). It makes one proactive to make things happen rather than wait for good things to come.
