The painting is a depiction of the 19th-century lifestyle of the Parisian bourgeoisie. Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte is considered impressionist in that it features important attributes such accurate depiction of light and shadows that underpin impressionist art (Metropolitan Museum of Art). Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte is considered historically significant since it has strong connotations with the French middle-class lifestyle that was ultimately replicated in many other countries across the globe (Metropolitan Museum of Art). Also, it depicts several people who seem to be engaged in their own business, but at the same time, there is some harmony associated with the entire ensemble. This imagery, therefore, conforms very well with the overall idea of co-harmonious existence which is necessary for good teamwork.

The artwork is considered impressionist since it features a subject matter that anyone can easily relate with and this is industrial production (Metropolitan Museum of Art). The artist employs the use of a predominantly white background with the central image of the factory being depicted a couple of shades darker. The industrial revolution is a wave that swept through Europe from the mid-19th century to early 20th century. Factory on Oise is an essential piece of art that highlights this critical period in history (Metropolitan Museum of Art). The piece of art, therefore, is very well connected with the real world since it emphasizes real-world events. The art features vivid images of a woman-like surrounded by rich jungle vegetation. The use of vivid colors, thick of paint and an image of a woman in fantasy like jungle background are some of the features that align with the post-impressionist art movement. The Dream relates to a time in history when the world was experiencing a new form of awakening and new possibilities. The painting relates to the late 19th century to early 20th century periods in which the world especially the western world was experiencing new forces such as modernization, industrialization and even artistic revolution (Brodskaya, 2014). Our company is trying to align more and more of its operations towards the green economy. This has seen the company adopt more environmentally friendly solutions and Water Lilies seems to resonate with this corporate image since it highlights the beauty of the natural environment.
