I believe that gender identity should not be used to discriminate against any person. Gender identity incorporates various roles which are manifested within the society by observable factors such as behavior and experience. For example, if an individual is fully socialized and defines himself with masculine terms, then the person is considered as male while the others who are fragile and weak are referred to as female. However, the identity can be demonstrated typically by some characteristics in terms of behavior, dress and mannerism. Gender identity is an inward expression of gender role and in most cases they are congruous. 25% of Dail seats out of 166 are currently held by women. This is an indication that voters in the state believe that men are the key controllers of politics and women are not.

However, the current education shows that majority of the learned people are women, and this shows that they are in a position to raise issues and bring ideas that will help in proper decision-making processes and hence should be considered in the political field. To achieve it, party meetings and parliamentary business should be undertaken during family friendly hours. The Scottish parliament provides an illustrative example of the positive effects of such an approach (Colombo, Robert, Bonnie, 474). In various work places, non-traditional roles have been seen to change and are done easily since the society accepts them as part of life. This has made me believe that it is easy to change on non-traditional roles. This has also been seen in institutions where tutors who used to teach arithmetic’s were mainly male but today many women take these subjects as well as leadership positions like school principals.
