Straubel and Wright Ian who are also called co-founders of the company. The company specializes in the manufacture of electric cars and solar panels. The solar city is the company’s subsidiary (Eberhard & Tarpenning, 2006). In 2015, they introduced Model X which was the best sport vehicle on history with a five-star rating. Model 3 was introduced in 2016 which was low priced in a way to attract a wider market. The Tesla Semi of 2017 was introduced in 2017 which was designed to cut fuel consumption costs.

The company has been faced with a lot of challenges over the years. Musk has in the recent years guided the company to produce 5000 Model 3s and the challenge is to ensure that the production is continuous to prove to customers it wasn’t a fluke (Eberhard & Tarpenning, 2006). He acquired all that after the Security Exchange Commission filing of 2018 making him the largest shareholder of the company. He has been involved actively in the affairs of the company when he presided over the Roadster product development though he wasn’t deeply involved in their day to day business operations. He assumed leadership as CEO in 2008 and has seen to it that the company deliver its major products Model X, Model S and Model 3 to its customers.

He currently leads the company despite it being faced with a number of challenges. He was granted the option of buying up to 20. The company has not been able to service its debts and pay its suppliers. This has sparked speculation in the market that Musk is misleading the company. The fear and uncertainty of such crisis in business caused some suppliers on the verge of pulling out of the partnership deals. However, a twist and turn of thought happened when Musk announced that they finally reached their targets of producing 5000 Model 3’s in a week. Some creditors also thought all this was empty talk and argued Musk lacked the motive to propel the business to its goals. The company is estimated to have about 45,000 employees.

In 2008, during the financial crisis of the business, many were laid off to mid-30,0000s head count up from about 40,000 workers. This was approximately 9%. A few months later, Musk announced that the number of employees had grown rapidly to about 45,000. This was reportedly because after the lay-off which was attempting to restructure and contain the employee growth rate, a sudden rapid hiring spree was experienced in the company. The Security Exchange Commission Tesla Company being an energy and automotive company, it’s greatly regulated by this body. The SEC filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk when it emerged that he had thoughts or secret plans of taking the company private. The probe later confirmed that Elons’ tweet was rather misguided and false and could have damaged the business investors. The SEC started a move to bar Musk from serving as the company’s CEO but they later agreed on terms and he was fined and the company paid $20 million as fine too Employees The company is estimated to have about 45,000 employees. Tesla should consider creating and developing more strong brands in various countries around the world. This act of creation would translate into expansion of the market base for Tesla products and thus result to more profits recorded by the company’s accounting team. Expansion would also give them the experience they need and also aid in attraction of new investors who would add resources to the company.

Also, Tesla has most of its suppliers operating in many countries that are oversees, this has created some serious delays in supplying for they have to ship their products all the way to the main base of Tesla motors (Berdichevsky, Kelty, Straubel & Toomre, E. If Tesla would consider creating more branches in most of these countries, the time taken for supplying commodities would reduce and the rate of production would increase with immediate effect. This can be achieved by a complete evaluation of all products, assets and resources of the company (Halla, 2015). The board of directors of Tesla motors should ensure that this is done. The board of directors may also call for an internal audit of the expenses of the company.

This move will enable the company to gauge the relative costs they are to incur. After determination of the average costs, the management committee should come up with ways that will ensure that the production costs are reduced without reducing the level of output.
