There are two major aspects that must be considered when evaluating demand planning, there resources and materials. The relationship between these two offers the limit of how to prioritize and influence the demand. If the company can understand the market drivers and the expectations of clients, they are able to predict. Moreover, the sales and marketing departments can benefit from this when they are positioning the company on the mark for a more correct prediction. Notably, when there is a broader view of demand, the company becomes a stronger competitor. The advertisement ensures that the clients are focused on the brand and are able to make purchases as the demand for the product is enhanced. The demand for the espresso drinks at Wild Dog Coffee Company is enhanced because the advertising campaign creates demand for the product in the mind of consumers.

Every increase in the amount of dollars spent on advertisement increased the amount of espresso bean use in the company (Ashe-Edmunds, n. d. Graphical representation of Advertsing Dollars against Espresso Bean demand over the six month period. The pounds of espresso beans required for the seventh month are 1250 lbs/beans. On each day, the company will need to prepare an average of 41lbs/beans. This will be same amount of espresso beans that the company will averagely require on each day. In this regard, the advertising dollars reveal that when more funds are invested on advertising, the sales on the espresso beverage increases due to a positive influence on the demand. The management of demand is a business process that is integrated into the sales and operation department.

Usually, this technique is advantageous because it controls the highly-priced products that is usually less in number but every expensive. The items are category B is moderately expensive and the control levels are usually low. Finally, category C includes a high number of inventory items and requires less investments and the control level is lower. The next approach to inventory management is the Just In Time (JIT) method, which allows the company to keep as much inventory as it needs during the production process. There are no excess inventories at hand the company saves much of the costs of storage and insurance. When the orders exceed $250, the shipment is usually free otherwise the shipment is $19. 95 for every order, regardless of the weight purchased.
