The author is a Master’s Degree holder in Literature from Oxford University. An unforgettable event that takes away lives of men and many women takes place in a sad unfolding of events (von Drehle 3). This book seeks to give an in depth account of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Blaze that led to the improvement of working conditions in America, benefiting millions of people. The fire began by somebody probably tossing a match or cigarette butt into the bins. The bins contained employees’ cotton scraps that had been thrown away as they got ready to go home. The author does not fail to explore further into the trials that followed later (von Drehle 19). Readers are taken through the developments of the case and they are also made aware of the impact the horrific event has on today’s world.
