A shampoo is a hair product that is intended to strengthen the hair and moisturize the dry hair. The Fructis shampoo advertisement was strategically designed and placed to increase its sales by taking advantage of the insecurities that women have concerning their appearance. The advert was designed with graphics which were selectively used because they send a strong emotional appeal to the target group. The primary focus in the advert is the long hair of the model depicted in the picture. The model has most of the qualities that most American women strive to get. The fruit is used to make the viewer’s link the fruit to beauty and health. The society's perception is that fruit is vital in maintaining a good healthy lifestyle as well as it improves the health of the skin and the hair.

The fruit also links with the brand Fructis. Therefore, the customers will perceive that the product contains all the ingredients found in the fruit. The bottle is written the statement" nutritive fruit micro-oils," suggesting that even though the product has significant benefits; it has no side-effects on their health. The ad, just like the films, is emphasizing the importance of beauty in a woman. The advert seems to signify that beauty of a woman is defined by having flawless skin, long shiny hair, and a lithe physique. It also seems to tell the women that if they have such characteristics, they would feel confident about themselves. The advert capitalizes on the insecurities of the women to sell the product. As it glorifies the physical attributes of a woman, the advert ignores other crucial and inner qualities such as compassion, honesty, and intellect.
