Bush vs. Barack Obama’s Leadership Styles Introduction The race for the United States’ presidency remains to be a tough race between the Democrats and the Republicans who continue to fight for the country’s top office. With both the Republicans and the Democrats fighting for the top seat, the promise for a better America continues to be the central theme in the two camps’ campaigns. After an election, the president’s office gets occupied by a different a leader with a certain leadership style which may be similar or different from the predecessor’s leadership style. Additionally, Bush’s imperialist character pushed him to advocate for the use of waterboarding simulation technique in which suspects are made to feel like they are drowning thus causing them to confess about their terror plans (Ribeiro, 2013). Unlike President Bush, President Back Obama’s approach towards combating terror depicts him as an advocate of the human rights and Democrat leader. For instance, when President Barack Obama ascended into office, he eased the use of the waterboarding simulation technique and advocated for the establishment of alternative ways of interrogating terror suspects (Coglianese, 2009). Despite terrorism being the most significant threat in the contemporary world, President Obama said that such interrogation techniques violated human rights and that they should be abolished to pave the way for alternative ways.
