The essay looks into the NASW code of ethics and Alabama code of ethics in regards to their principle values, mission and what they entail. National Association of Social Workers (NASW) code of ethics is projected to serve as a director to the daily professional behavior of social workers ("Code Of Ethics: English"). It enables workers to maintain values and standards of good character in order to display moral questions and in decent trust look to make consistent moral judgments. Alabama Administrative Code, on the other hand, defines social work as direct practice, that is, delivery of services to individuals and indirect practice where one researches problems of conflict and human behavior ("Alabama Ethics Commission"). The NASW code of ethics entails four segments which include; preamble, purpose, ethical principle, and ethical standards.

Additionally, it is made in such a way that social workers can retreat if they question their ethical conduct. It also brings about accountability of the workers to the public. In case of a complaint from a citizen, action against a social worker can be taken without prejudice and bias. Finally, the code of ethics provides a form of value identification to achieve the mission of the social work profession. In NASW code of ethics, dignity and the worth of a person is a significant value in regards to social workers ("Code Of Ethics: English"). What is more, they are expected to respect and lead them the clients in achieving their goals through self-determination. Also, the social workers are required to maintain their relationships with clients at a professional level making them understand the services they offer.

They should also assist illiterate clients by explaining non-verbally or providing them with an interpreter to help them understand. Furthermore, they should display competence. They should offer services to the level they are qualified, and when their clients find a mistake, they should be careful to judge and promote the customers' interests. During research, the social worker should ensure to keep matters of finding confidential. Moreover, competence and professional development are regarded as major values that one should possess. The social worker should work hard to become and maintain skillful professional practice and performance of his actions ("Alabama Ethics Commission"). The worker should portray competence when accepting duty during employment. He should also consider serving as a primary obligation to social work.
