Since the development of Windows 3. 0 in 1990, Microsoft has seen massive evolution in Windows to Windows 8. Microsoft leveraged on magazine advertising to market the Windows software and office to businesses. For instance, in 1998, Microsoft used slogans such as “Where Do You Want to Go Today?” to market its products and improving the company’s reputation (pg 94). The rapid increase in the Internet of Things prompted the company to develop Internet explorer top establish its position in the market. Apple has been competing with Microsoft in developing operating systems. Apple’s products and marketing strategies have been focused on tarnishing Microsoft’s brand image and reputation as well as reducing the company’s market share. Also, Google competes with Microsoft in producing the most powerful search engines.
