On the other hand, the Edelweiss Flower that Blithe got after killing German soldier demonstrates the important aspects of white culture and traditions that get transferred from one generation to another. In the essay, it gets used to mean the white culture practiced by upper-class capitalists that make it almost impossible for the lower class liberals to upgrade their socioeconomic status. Therefore, Blithe suffered all sorts of life-threatening and social problems to gain status in the society.
